I am an International Film student in Northern Ireland. Going to school in Derry~Londonderry at Ulster University. I love film and photography, I love the atmosphere and I truly believe that media including photography can change someone's perspective on any situation that is brought to them. That is just one of the many reasons why I love it.
Being a 19-year-old American in Northern Ireland (the north of Ireland) the most common question I get is- "why would you come here?" and all I really say back is why not? I love being able to teach myself a new culture and I am continually finding myself in situations that, in the future, will continue to teach me more about myself. I love to learn and communicate with people along with continually bettering myself by learning from them.
My love for media, most likely started when I was doing little shows of live television, much like SNL with my brothers, to my family when I was a little kid. From there it moved to wanting a camera for most of my teen years - sorry mom - and now here we are, years later I am working towards being the person I've always dreamed of.
When I was a starting senior in high school I didn't know what I wanted but I did know I couldn't see myself going to school in the US and I was determined to find a school that I felt I could fit into. So I did my research and in February of 2019 I was accepted into Ulster University and still to this day I can not envision myself doing anything else but working towards having a part in the film industry in this crazy world.
I am more than excited for my future and I hope to make an impact on someone's life and I know the best way for me to do that is through the world of media, whether that is live television, photography, film, or even just having a part in making something amazing. I like to let my determination and excitement for the future control me, I trust my future because I know the person in charge and she is more than ready for the next chapter.
Life is too short to not go for what you truly want, and what you truly feel compelled todo. Mine just so happens to be moving to a different country when I was 18 and living out to become someone to some great people.
